2232015 Image1Alexander Janko will be filming "Year by the Sea" in Wellfleet this spring.  Let's hope the ice has melted by then!

The filming will take place for a period of five days between March 30 and April 18.  The hope is to finish the movie in time for the 2016 Sundance Film Festival, the Golden Globes and the Oscars.

"Year by the Sea" is based on a book written by Joan Anderson of Harwichport.  She recommended that the Janko shoot in Wellfleet town center.  The memoir is available through the Clams catalog.

Janko is a director, composer, producer and writer.  He plans to shoot at Uncle Tim’s Bridge, on Main Street, at Town Hall and Hatch’s, and at Indian Neck Beach.

The Selectmen are charging $100/day.  Considering that one seat at the Grammies costs $400, $100 seems like a bargain for these Hollywood types coming to town.

What I want to know is whether the town will be identified as Wellfleet.
