Pilgrim nuclear plant in Plymouth is closing, but not soon enough.
This was the message of over a dozen speakers, including Senator Dan Wolf, at the Statehouse yesterday. I was there for you, with Laura Kelley, who snapped this selfie of the two of us prior to the event. Kudos to Wellfleet's Lisa Brown who brought a dozen Nauset High students. Three spoke out. Samantha Pike was pictured in today's Globe, and Kahla Jessell was quoted in today's Cape Cod Times. Once I parse my notes, I will be reporting here on the protest and how you can get involved. The message in a nutshell: 2019 may be too late. We need Pilgrim shut now. After the media event, CapeDownwinders and members of the other environmental groups present took this message to Governor Baker, whose aides did not seem moved. Stay tuned!
